In this Ohio location, birding enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of options. The park is home to over 150 species of birds including the rare cerulean warbler and other songbirds. Birdwatchers may also spot raptors such as hawks or owls in their natural habitat. There are several trails available for exploration where visitors might encounter different types of woodpeckers, thrushes, vireos and flycatchers among others depending on the season.
There are miles of trail located throughout the park and adjacent state forest. These trails are beautiful as well as potentially dangerous: caution and common sense are advised. Young children should be closely supervised while in these areas. All park visitors must remain on the trails at all times.
A valid Ohio fishing license is required to fish in Rose Lake. Access is off State Route 374 via a 1/2-mile hiking trail.
The swimming pool outside the dining lodge is for those staying in the lodge and cabins. Registered campers only may use the outdoor pool in the family campground.
